Thanks to all those great bluegrass fans who made us feel welcome back out at Norman today! The crowd was fantastic. We were only a mighty three-some, but I think it sounded pretty good nonetheless. And what a gorgeous day for a festival! Hope everyone else had safe travels...

Well Janssen and I just returned from vacationing in North Carolina and Tennessee. We had the good fortune to be able to attend our first Merlefest, a huge Americana music festival held April 26-29 on campus in Wilkesboro, NC. It was a fantastic experience, and was probably the best organized festival I've ever attended. We heard heaps of good music throughout, though with around 12 stages we didn't get to sample everything offered. We heard lots of great new acts plus our old favorites... and the storytelling session and instrument contests were also entertaining. See the Merlefest 2007 photo album on the left for some pics.
